As of April 1, 2025 or by arrangement, we are looking for a research assistant in the Department of Quality Assurance & Development (QSE), Vice Rectorate for Quality and Sustainable Development.
The Department of Quality Assurance & Development (QSE Department) of the University of Bern is responsible for the process of institutional accreditation, the management of the university’s QSE Commission and the networking of actors in quality-related matters. In cooperation with the vice-rectorates, the university management staff and all university units, the QSE Department ensures the coordination and implementation of the quality strategy in all university areas.
- Planning, coordination, advice and support of the four-yearly self-evaluation of university centers
- Support in the preparation of performance contracts
specialist responsibility for evaluation of study programs
- Planning, coordination, advice and support of faculties and institutes in the evaluation of study programs and, if necessary, in program accreditation
specialist responsibility central department
- Planning, coordination and support in updating the Central Department’s performance descriptions, self-evaluations and peer reviews
- Reporting to the Q-Representative of the Central Department
project management and further development
- Further development of QSE measures, projects and instruments (including institutional accreditation)
- Supporting the department management in the continuous development and orientation of the QSE department
communication and networking
- Communication and further development of regulations, guidelines, etc.
- QSE community: networking and communication with the QSE employees of the faculties and organization of the WiMaQ network meetings
- Advisory member of the QSE Commission
- Exchange and networking with the LEAD team (university didactics)
- Participation in continuing education events, conferences, congresses
- Completed university degree
- Knowledge of (university) administrative processes and the university landscape
- Interest and experience in quality management, university evaluation or accreditation or the willingness to learn
- Very good process and project management skills
- Enjoyment and experience in participatory design of processes, projects and topic-related workshops
- Stakeholder-oriented, high oral and written communication skills (d/e)
- Independent, committed and reliable personality
- IT and digital skills (Microsoft Office365 Suite, possibly AI applications)
- Responsible and varied area of responsibility
