As the Senior Research Data Facilitator, you will support and advise researchers and core facility leaders in the best use of a broad set of state-of-the-art cyberinfrastructure (CI) systems, tools, and software to support complex data and computing pipelines, and enable research collaboration and data sharing throughout research data lifecycle.
You will partner with researchers to co-create and co-learn research activities and relevant advanced computing and data workflow capabilities both locally and nationally. You will utilize creativity and innovation to analyze a wide range of research data workflow problems encountered by researchers and determine strategies to facilitate cutting-edge research.
You will design, build, test, debug, optimize, and maintain complex data pipelines and provide documentation. You will work collaboratively with other staff, campus researchers, national partners and vendors to implement novel computing and data movement technologies that enable and/or improve computational research and data management.
You will engage in cross-institutional partnership with campus partners, including research data librarians, scientific cores, sponsored programs services, and other departmental data services to shape research data management broadly. You will collaborate with other staff to provide regular training workshops to researchers to help them use computational tools. You will participate in national computing activities by attending workshops, conferences, and potentially presenting research.

What We’re Looking For:
Education and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
- At least four (4) years of experience supporting data or computing workflows
- At least two (2) years of total experience working with researchers or research groups
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be accepted
Skills Needed:
- Ability to work:

- Knowledge of Linux operating system and version control software, i.e. GIT

- Knowledge of Globus or other open-source tools and protocols
- Experience in analyzing and optimizing performance of scientific applications and data transfers
