We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as SSHRA IV, acting as Lab Manager for the Pestilli Lab at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting ongoing research activities, managing lab operations, and assisting with facilitating the smooth functioning of our cutting-edge research endeavors which include among other projects brainlife.io and BRIDGE projects.
This is a fixed-term, 1 year position to start with the opportunity to renew annually based on performance and mutual agreement.

Purpose
The Research Associate IV will act as lab manager for the Pestilli lab.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations of the Pestilli Lab, brainlife.io and BRIDGE projects.
- Manage the BRIDGE project, including contract requirements, scheduling, IRB, and workshop planning.
- Maintain and troubleshoot administrative needs for the lab, including purchasing, travel coordination, and personnel management.
- Ensure compliance with research protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and external partners on various research initiatives.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant writing, and other scholarly activities.
- International Travel to organize major international meetings
- Organize weekly meetings, and international travel for lab members
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, law, international policy) and 4 years experience. Or a PhD with 2 yrs experience; or 6 yrs of experience with a bachelors.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
- Proficiency in the google suite and Microsoft suite (e.g., drive, docs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior experience working with individuals from outside Texas preferred.
- Prior experience with neuroscience or neuroimaging data preferred. Legal and ethics experience welcome.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in research practices.
Salary Range
$46,000 – $55,000
