What We Want
The SRS Research Administrator III processes and submits journal entries for post award administrators to review and resolve issues with sponsored projects. Responsible for processing, analyzing, reconciling, and providing financial data to researchers, departments, members, sponsors, management, and auditors. Coordinates with internal and external auditors on financial data, and sponsored projects within SRS. Responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, and data updates within Laserfiche processes and databases.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Four years of related experience in accounting in a university or business environment developing budget, and/or project management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in creating complex spreadsheets, word processing and database software systems.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, proofreading and time management skills.
- Ability to apply problem-solving skills to complex problems, prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Research administration experience with Texas A&M System or other university systems.
- Knowledge of applications used by A&M System members, such as FAMIS, Canopy, Business Objects, AggieBuy, Concur, Maestro, and Laserfiche.
- Knowledge of Federal grant and contact regulations and practical application of current research administration issues.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Processing– Processes and submits journal entries for post award administrators to review and resolve issues with sponsored projects. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and distributing ad hoc research reports for Sponsored Research Services (SRS) staff. Assists with year-end compliance reports and metrics. Prepares and submits routing access for new and terminating employees.
- Financial Reporting– Responsible for processing, analyzing, reconciling, and providing financial data to researchers, departments, members, sponsors, management, and auditors. Coordinates and assists in the calculations of the SRS assessment model to TAMU System Members. Prepares and submits departmental budgets and assessment models.
- Audit Coordination– Coordinates with internal and external auditors on financial data, and sponsored projects within SRS. Assists in coordinating and scheduling audit work, attending entrance and exit meetings, and developing management responses to audit observations.
- System Administrator– Responsible for assisting with the development, maintenance, and data updates within Laserfiche processes and databases. Coordinates with the SRS Research Administrator Manager to monitor and update Laserfiche products, SQL and Access databases used for streamlining business processes and increasing productivity.
- Performance Metrics– Creates monthly and quarterly performance metrics for SRS leadership which includes performance measurement data, and unit objectives.
