The Institute for Sugar Beet Research is an affiliated institute of the Georg August University of Göttingen and the nationwide research facility for the development of processes for sustainable sugar beet production. The institute is supported by the Sugar Industry Association.
As a temporary replacement for 1.5 years with the option of extension, we are looking for a technical assistant (m/f/d) in the Coordination Department for work in the area of coordinated variety testing as soon as possible, full-time as a replacement during maternity leave and parental leave. Your tasks
- Support in the organization and supervision of nationwide trials in plant variety and plant protection
- Visits to nationwide trials and support with field work at the Göttingen site
- administrative tasks in variety testing in coordination with the scientific staff of the Coordination Department
- Data collection and data maintenance with Microsoft Access
- Support in the preparation of test plans and test reports
What you bring with you
- completed training as a technical assistant (preferably LTA or ATA or plant technologist)
- Experience in field trials, especially variety and plant protection trials
- Willingness to travel for several days and to work in the field
- Class B driving license
- secure handling of digital data and office applications
- Ability to work independently, teamwork and flexibility
- structured way of working and good communication skills
- high level of sense of responsibility
- very good knowledge of German
