The Mathematics Department of Cornell University invites applications for Visiting Assistant Professors for one or two semesters during the 2025-2026 academic year, beginning August 16, 2025, or January 1, 2026. Responsibilities include teaching up to four courses per year. Experience teaching large lectures is desirable. At least one reference should address teaching. A Ph.D. in mathematics is required. The department anticipates making offers as early as February 20, 2025. Review of application will begin February 15, 2025.

Expected hiring salary for Visiting Assistant Professors is between $54,000 – $60,000/full-time, nine-month, if teaching four courses (or at a per course rate of $13,000 to $15,000 if teaching fewer than four).

Actual salary offers in the College of Arts & Sciences will be based on education, experience, discipline, and relevant skills.
