Company Description
Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, it became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. The institution underwent further name changes: in 1899, it became the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, and in 1960, it adopted its current name, Auburn University, to reflect its expanded academic programs and mission.Â
