At Chalmers University of Technology, we’re dedicated to delivering top-tier education and pioneering research that not only meet international standards but also actively contribute to the well-being of both people and the planet. Our story began on November 5, 1829, with the establishment of the “Chalmersska Slöjdskolan” (‘Chalmers Technical School’) in Gothenburg. Funded by the legacy of William Chalmers, a director of the Swedish East India Company, the school started with just ten pupils and three teachers. Over the years, we’ve evolved into a leading institution, continually expanding our reach and impact.
