At Forschungszentrum Jülich, we’re dedicated to tackling the grand challenges of our time. Our mission is to pioneer solutions for a better tomorrow by fostering an environment that attracts creative minds from around the globe and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration.Our journey began on December 11, 1956, when the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia decided to establish an atomic research center. This led to the creation of the Society for the Promotion of Nuclear Physics Research (GFKF), which later became the Nuclear Research Centre Jülich. Over the years, our focus expanded beyond nuclear research to encompass a broad range of scientific disciplines, prompting our renaming to Forschungszentrum Jülich in 1990.
