Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, commonly known as Fred Hutch, was established in 1975 in Seattle, Washington. The center was founded by Dr. William B. Hutchinson in honor of his brother, Fred Hutchinson, a Major League Baseball pitcher and manager who died of lung cancer in 1964.
