Company Description
At the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), our mission is to create knowledge for a better world. We aim to provide solutions that can contribute to the realization of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals by addressing complex challenges through interdisciplinary research and education. Our vision, “Knowledge for a better world,” reflects our commitment to advancing knowledge that empowers individuals and society to make informed decisions and foster positive change globally.
History
NTNU was established in 1996 through the merger of several institutions, including the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), the Norwegian College of General Sciences (AVH), the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology (VM), the Faculty of Medicine (DMF), the Trondheim Academy of Fine Art, and the Trondheim Conservatory of Music. This consolidation created a comprehensive university with a strong focus on science and technology.
Educational Approach
NTNU offers a broad spectrum of programs across various disciplines, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative learning methods. We are dedicated to providing research-based education that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address contemporary and future challenges.
