The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) is dedicated to addressing societal challenges through transdisciplinary knowledge creation, leveraging external relations, and enabling flexible learning experiences that prepare graduates to engage effectively with and govern societal institutions. Established in 1998 through the merger of Odense University, the Southern Denmark School of Business and Engineering, and the South Jutland University Centre, SDU has expanded to include five faculties and approximately 32,000 students, with more than 15% coming from abroad. 

Campuses and Facilities

SDU operates multiple campuses across Denmark:​

• Odense Campus: The largest campus, offering a wide selection of programs and research areas under one roof, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Esbjerg Campus: Features specialized research environments and modern teaching facilities, fostering close interaction with the local business community.

• Kolding Campus: A modern triangular building housing approximately 2,000 students and 150 staff, with facilities including a canteen, library, and student café.

• Sønderborg Campus: Equipped with facilities to support teaching, research, and meetings, including kitchen amenities and accommodation for visitors.

• Slagelse and Copenhagen Campuses: Offer various programs and maintain strong connections with regional industries and the international scientific community.
