The Biology Education Department at the Albrecht von Haller Institute of Plant Sciences at the University of Göttingen is seeking a permanent position as an

administrative employee (f/m/d)
(E 8 TV-L)

starting September 1, 2025. This is a part-time position with 50% working hours (currently 19.9 hours per week).

Biology Education at the University of Göttingen primarily focuses on biology teacher training, research in biology education, and research on Education for Sustainable Development. We are seeking a person who can assume all secretarial duties in Biology Education.

Your tasks
• Management of the secretariat with all relevant tasks
• Management of budget and third-party funding (including for the public relations project in the DFG-SFB 1528 “Cognition of Interaction”)
• Preparation of recruitment, extensions and increases in staff and support staff
• Organization and preparation of courses, workshops and scientific events
• Preparation/organization of business trips
• Procurement of office/IT/business supplies, literature, etc.
• Maintenance of the website

Your profile
• Completed vocational training as an administrative assistant or a completed comparable, three-year vocational training relevant to the job as a business administrator (for example as an industrial clerk) or the successful completion of the employee training course I
• Confident use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
• Independent and goal-oriented way of working
• Knowledge of university software programs such as SAP/EBP, FlexNow, FactScience, HISinOne EXA, GöChem etc. is an advantage
• Communication and Ability to work in a team, friendliness, flexibility and ability to work under pressure
• Experience in secretarial work is an advantage
