The Air Pollution / Environmental Engineering Department investigates the impact of human activities on the atmosphere and climate to provide a basis for decision-making on technical solutions, emission reduction scenarios, and environmental policy decisions. This is based on strong expertise in measurement technology and analytics, as well as process analyses and modeling.
The Air Pollution / Environmental Technology Department at Empa operates the National Air Pollution Monitoring Network (NABEL) together with the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
You are responsible for:
- the independent supervision of air quality measurements at NABEL measuring stations
- the operation of measuring instruments and the quality assurance of the measured data
- the development of new measurement methods
- the analysis of air samples in the laboratory
- the technical development of the measuring network
- Automation, programming and data analysis
For these demanding tasks, you have the following qualifications:
- Completed studies (BA or MSc) in a technical field
- Technical flair and IT knowledge
- Experience in device control and programming
- Good oral and written communication skills in German and English
- Personal responsibility and willingness for open communication and committed teamwork
- Driving license category B
