Job Description

Project
  • You will follow the doctoral programme in Business Economics at the faculty of Economics and Business from KU Leuven.
  • You will prepare a doctoral dissertation (PhD.) at the Finance research group of KU Leuven, under the supervision of Prof. dr. Nico Dewaelheyns and Prof. dr. Frederiek Schoubben.
  • You will be able to participate in national and international conferences where you can present your research. You are expected to attend, participate in seminars and will occasionally be involved in teaching activities, including the supervision of master theses.

Profile

  • You have a master’s degree in Business Administration, (Applied) Economic Sciences, Business Engineering or an equivalent degree with good academic results and master thesis. Students in the final year may also apply.
  • You have a great interest in scientific research and good statistical skills.
  • You excel in critically examining scientific literature.
  • You are eager to learn and highly motivated to expand your knowledge of financial management and methodology.
  • You have good written skills, especially in English.
  • You are expected to present and discuss research findings in public (e.g. scientific conference, seminars).

Offer

We offer an employment as full-time PhD researcher for 1year (starting October 1st 2025), renewable after positive evaluation. You will be enrolled in the PhD Program of KU Leuven and you will work as a doctoral student in a stimulating work environment with a high degree of flexibility and autonomy.
