Job Description
The Leibniz Institute for Food Systems Biology at the Technical University of Munich (Leibniz-LSB@TUM) is a legally independent foundation under civil law based in Freising and a member of the Leibniz Association. Our unique research profile lies at the interface of food chemistry and biology, chemosensorics and technology, as well as bioinformatics and machine learning. Together with internationally renowned experts, we are researching solutions for tasty, healthy, and sustainable nutrition.
To strengthen our Food Systems Chemistry research group, we are seeking a committed individual to work on a project supervised by Prof. Dr. Corinna Dawid as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65%) and initially limited to 3 years.
Your tasks
The research project will use modern, instrumental natural product analysis and human psychophysical techniques to search for novel taste-active natural products and taste modulators in the sensometabolome and to characterize them structurally and functionally.
Your profile
You ideally have the following:
• Excellent master’s degree in the field of food chemistry
• High level of self-motivation to achieve a doctorate
• Analytical, creative and solution-oriented thinking
• Specialist knowledge: basic knowledge of (food) chemistry and/or analytics
• Very good written and spoken English skills
