The Georg-August-University Göttingen Foundation under Public Law – Forest Botanical Garden is seeking to appoint a
– salary group 6 TV-L –
The position is available for a part-time position (50% of the regular weekly working hours). The position is permanent.
With 40 hectares and more than 2,000 woody plant taxa, the Göttingen Forestry Botanical Garden is one of the largest and most important woody plant collections in Central Europe. It serves research and teaching, species conservation, environmental education, and public relations.
Areas of responsibility:
– Carrying out all general work and activities in the Forest Botanical Garden & Arboretum
– Weed removal according to specifications in the Forest Botanical Garden’s crops
– Seed harvesting and preparation for the International Seed Exchange
– Pruning woody plants and perennials according to specifications
– Planting perennials and woody plants according to specifications
– Working with brush cutters and other small equipment
Essential requirements:
– Completed vocational training as a gardener, preferably in the field of horticulture and landscape design, tree nursery or similar, or a degree in
arboriculture
– You have good to very good knowledge of woody plants and perennials
– Driving license to drive vehicles
– You are open-minded towards the concerns of research and teaching
– You have an independent, performance-oriented way of working
– You are a team player, highly motivated, enjoy a scientific
woody plant collection and are willing to undergo further professional training
In addition, it would be desirable if you:
– Have experience in the area of public green space maintenance
– For example, you have experience in Get involved in horticultural associations or plant societies.
