A non-tenure track appointment is available on August 1, 2025, at the rank of Lecturer in the Division of Science at IU Columbus. The position is a ten-month teaching assignment with responsibilities for teaching four sections each semester (equal to 24 contact hours per year) and for engaging in service activities at the campus level.
Basic Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: The division seeks highly qualified candidates who have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching in one of the following fields of expertise: microbiology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry. The successful candidate also may be expected to teach courses in general biology for majors and non-majors.

Candidates should have a Master’s Degree, Ph.D. or equivalent in one or more of the fields listed above or a related field. The successful candidate should have experience teaching undergraduate biology courses. In addition, the candidate needs to have the ability and interest to work with a diverse student population. Candidates should have the desire to improve conditions in and access to higher education for underrepresented students. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must. Successful teaching at the university level is very important.

Additional Qualifications
PREFERENCES: Two semesters of experience in teaching traditional and non-traditional undergraduate students and demonstrated capacity to collaborate with faculty across disciplines. Preference will be given to candidates with a record of teaching one or more of the following: cell biology, microbiology, or biochemistry. Preference will also be given to applicants who have a record of teaching and serving under-represented populations and first-generation college students and a demonstrated commitment to student and community engagement.
Salary and Rank 50,000 – 53,000
