Description of the thesis subject
Optimizing processor speed to optimize energy consumption under real-time constraints (strict deadlines). The techniques used to solve this type of problem vary widely depending on the context: Markov decision process and Markov bandits in the discrete case, Pontryagin principle and functional derivative in the continuous case. The learning aspects rely on reinforcement and stochastic gradient techniques.
Work context
Thesis completed at the LIG (Grenoble Computer Science Laboratory), in the Polaris team.
