The Department of Engineering Studies at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) is seeking to fill a 9-month lecturer (non-tenure-track) faculty position in the engineering field. The successful candidate will:
- Provide direct instruction in PMT’s lecturer machining and computer numerical control courses;
- Provide direct instruction and/or tutoring support in AMT’s lecturer courses including but not limited to industrial materials, blueprint reading and manufacturing related courses;
- Provide assistance into developing curriculum for existing programs and/or potential new programs;
- Promote partnerships with industry and other academic settings;
- Mentor and advise students within the manufacturing sector;
- Fulfill other faculty expectations including those related to service, communication, and diversity.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree with three (3) or more years of machining experience, or Bachelor’s degree with five (5) or more years of machining experience. Field of study: Engineering or Engineering Technology background in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or equivalent;
- Ability to successfully cultivate professional contacts in the manufacturing sector for the purpose of establishing student cooperative work experiences;
- Evidence of being highly motivated and having the ability to inspire students;
- Demonstrated teaching experience preferred, particularly with deaf and hard of hearing students
- Proficient in American Sign Language. Knowledge of ASL and deaf culture. A candidate who does not know ASL will be expected to learn ASL and obtain a NTID sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) rating of Intermediate Plus by the end of the second academic year.

Salary Maximum: 70000
