Salary range:  £32,546-£36,130

FTE:  1.0 (35 hours per week)

Term:  Fixed term to 30 June 2026

Closing date:  6 June 2025

This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership of a busy Payroll and Pensions team as the University transitions to a new HR /Payroll platform. You will have a relevant Payroll/Pensions qualification and extensive Payroll/Pensions experience. You will be responsible for helping to ensure all operational processes and procedures relating to payroll, pensions, employment tax and The Pension Regulator compliance are reviewed and maintained in line with legislative changes. You will also be required to support the Payroll and Pensions Manager in all aspects of providing a payroll and pension service to the wider University community and be a subject matter expert in all aspects of payroll, operational pensions, employment tax, national insurance and other associated taxes. You will be enthusiastic and committed to ensuring the service provided is accurate, efficient and customer focused, engaging with the University community to build knowledge and support on payroll and operational pension related activities.

You will have significant experience in payroll/pensions administration in order to provide a professional and efficient service to approximately 4,000 salaried employees in addition to a flexible cohort. Working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining accuracy levels is essential. Adopting a proactive approach, you will identify areas for improvement and work collaboratively under the directions of the Payroll and Pensions Manager and wider Payroll and Pensions team as well as other key stakeholders to implement change.
