Job Description
Function
- To conduct in-depth and qualitative cross-disciplinary research on the theme of ‘Interactions Between Regulation, Frequency and Effectiveness of ESG Shareholder Activism’.
- Collaborate with professors and researchers affiliated with the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Law and Criminology in the context of cross-disciplinary research projects.
- Actively participate in academic life, including seminars, workshops and (inter)national conferences.
- Publish research results in leading academic journals.
- Supporting educational activities at bachelor’s and/or master’s level, depending on the needs of the department.
- Providing guidance for bachelor’s and/or master’s theses at Campus Leuven.
Profile
- You hold a Master’s degree in “Economics, Law and Business Administration”, “Applied Economics”, “Commercial Sciences”, “Business Engineering” or an equivalent degree, with strong academic results and a successful Master’s thesis.
- You meet the requirements as described in section 3 of the doctoral regulations.
Note: candidates with a “Master in Economics, Law and Business Administration” or with a “Master in Advanced Studies of Economics” will have an advantage in the selection. - You have a keen interest in scientific research and strong statistical and analytical skills. You are also fascinated by both business and legal issues.
- You have an excellent command of English, both spoken and written, and are able to formulate academic texts clearly.
- You are critical in analyzing scientific literature.
- You are not reluctant to present research results at conferences or seminars.
- You are eager to learn, motivated and willing to follow methodological training.
Offer
- A full-time appointment of one year, extendable up to a maximum of four years, subject to annual positive evaluations.
- The employment will take place on Campus Leuven, within the Faculty of Economics and Business of KU Leuven.
