Description of the workplace
The research group Genetic Occupational and Environmental Medicine is located at the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and focus on the importance of genetics and environment, and their interactions, for health. The research group is led by Professor Karin Broberg. We are about 15 members in the research group from different parts of the world. The research group is located at Medicon Village in Lund. Work duties and areas of responsibilityÂ
The research assignment consists in you independently conducting an analysis of exposure and health effect in the plastic recycling industry, under the leadership of the project manager. The analysis includes chemical analysis, molecular biology analysis, and statistical analysis. The work duties also comprise project coordination, data management and bioinformatics. You will also publish articles in research journals, contribute to conferences and assist in the other work duties that the above-mentioned research project entails.
Qualifications
The requirements for the position are:
– A doctoral degree in environmental science specializing in metals or organic chemicals
– Experience of research in occupational and environmental medicine
– The ability to conduct independent research at an advanced level
– Very good knowledge of English
– Good analytical ability, drive and a good ability to collaborate
Additional qualifications for the position are:
– Experience of genetics
– Previous experience of research in similar projects
Research expertise is the foremost criterion for employment. The evaluation of applicants will take account of their research profile, experience and knowledge.
Qualification requirements 

To qualify for the position, the applicant must have a PhD or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within a subject relevant for the position (i.e. biology, biomedicine, medicine, chemistry), completed no more than three years before the date of employment decision. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.
Further information
The employment is time-limited to 2 years full-time, with possibly of an extension for 1 more year. The employment is time-limited according to the agreement, “Agreement on limited-time employment as postdoctoral researcher-2022-02-01”. Start date is 2025-07-01 or according to agreement.
