Job Description
We are looking for a well-qualified postdoctoral candidate to embark on the holy grail of oceanography, helping develop a remote sensing imaging technology that can see beneath the waves. PI Chirayath was recently selected as a 2024 Moore Inventor Fellow and is looking to recruit a post-doc to develop the next iteration of his NASA fluid lensing and MiDAR remote sensing technologies.
The applicant should be able to design and fabricate high-power modulated LED and laser sources using printed circuit boards. A strong background in image processing, optics, and astronomical telescope principles is desired. The postdoc will work closely with Prof. Chirayath to advance and test several novel technologies and ideas for remote sensing the ocean floor deeper than ever before. Applicants should be well versed in the lab’s previous work and technologies, and able to show experience developing similarly complex electro-optical systems.
