Job Description
We have an exciting postdoctoral position available at Case Western Reserve University to delve into the effect of mTOR hyperactivation in cancer therapy. The postdoctoral scholar will work together with additional researchers at different levels to build cellular and animal studies to elucidate the therapeutic potential of a novel molecule in solid and hematological cancers.
The Department of Biochemistry has a highly interactive environment with state-of-the-art core facilities (mass spectrometry, cytometry, microscopy, biophysics and structural biology). Competitive stipends and benefits packages are available.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 0-5 years of postdoctoral experience in the field of Immunology, Pharmacology, cell biology, biochemistry.
Education/Licensing: Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in Immunology, Pharmacology, cell biology,
biochemistry, or other aspects of life science.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Experience with biochemistry of proteins (western blotting, protein purification).
- Experience in tissue handling (lysis, histology).
- Experience in flow cytometry.
- Experience with expression (E. coli, yeast, and mammalian cells) and purification of proteins or nucleic acids.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and imaging
- Competent in molecular biology (cloning, and site-directed mutagenesis)
- Basic/advanced computer programming (Python, MATLAB, or R)
- Proficient in scientific writing
