Job Description

The HPA Alpha Cell Program at the Science for Life Laboratory in Stockholm is part of the Human Protein Atlas project (www.proteinatlas.org). This newly launched research program is working to map the proteins of the human body, with a focus on analyzing different parts of the human proteome. This work is crucial for identifying which proteins are expressed in human cells and tissues under various physiological conditions. The Mammalian RNA atlas is part of this effort with a focus on the evolutionary proteome, mapping what proteins are conserved across mammalian species and what are different.

Your mission

  • Process and analyze single cell sequencing data, with a focus on mouse data
  • Compare expression profiles across different mammalian tissues
  • Contribute to the development of the Mammalian RNA Atlas.
  • Assist in the work related to proteomics experiments to deepen the understanding of proteins relevant in human evolution
  • With a special focus on the brain, perform species comparisons across cell type profiling and regional variation in gene expression.

Your profile

Required qualifications:

  • The candidate we are looking for should have completed higher education (equivalent to a Master’s degree or MSc in engineering) in biotechnology or chemistry.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and methods for analyzing transcriptomics and proteomics data.
  • Ability to work independently and meticulously with complex datasets.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Experience working with large biological databases and data integration
