Job Description

University of Zurich, Department of Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Research Group “Neuropsychiatry and Biomarkers of Cerebral Aging.”

Our research focuses on the early stages of neurocognitive disorders, delirium, and persistent neuropsychiatric syndromes in late adulthood and old age.

Our main goals are:

  • A better understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms associated with neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders and their significance for clinical manifestations and disease progression
  • The identification and validation of molecular biomarkers for the prediction, early detection and differential diagnosis of cognitive impairment and associated neuropsychiatric symptoms
  • The identification of risk and protective factors for individual risk assessment and the development of personalized prevention and treatment approaches

Current projects focus on integrating multi-omics data with clinical data from an existing cohort and a multicenter cohort with ongoing recruitment and follow-up. Additionally, we are investigating specific language patterns for neuropsychiatric symptoms. The work also includes several collaborations with local and international groups and laboratories.

Tasks

We are seeking a psychological specialist with experience in neuropsychological testing who will also serve as a research assistant and assume various project-related organizational tasks. In addition to being responsible for neuropsychological research, you will also maintain an overview of the current project status and be involved in the care and examination of the participating senior citizens. Contribution to scientific publications is also desired.

profile

  • Completed Master’s degree in Psychology
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Experience in conducting neuropsychological tests (MoCA, Cerad-Plus, etc.) in German-speaking Switzerland
  • Fluent communication in standard German and very good understanding of Swiss German
  • Very good knowledge of English
  • Reliable, proactive and communicative
  • Commitment to working in a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with national/international research groups
  • Independence, resilience, assertiveness and ability to prioritize tasks
