Job Description
Work Activities
As a research technician, you will perform technical work in support of physical experiments. You will help design and build measurement set-ups, take care of their maintenance and carry out repair and assembly work. The work includes maintenance of lasers, making (precision-) mechanical adjustments, designing and testing vacuum systems, and testing and commissioning electronic equipment. You will be part of a research group and work closely with fellow technicians from other research groups and with general technical support departments of AMOLF.
Qualifications
You have an MBO-level degree in a relevant field (see above). It is an advantage if you have experience with one or more of the activities mentioned above and have an affinity with working in a physics laboratory. However, we also warmly encourage enthusiastic beginners to apply—especially those eager to learn on the job. You are flexible, can set priorities and work independently, perform tasks for multiple researchers simultaneously and communicate effectively with them and other colleagues, both in Dutch and English.
