Description of the workplace

The position is placed at the Division of Solid State Physics at the Department of Physics, a division with around 100 employees where extensive research is carried out centered on various aspects of nanophysics, ranging from materials science to bio- and quantum physics to various applications. The division is a central part of NanoLund, Lund University’s large interdisciplinary research Centre on nanoscience and nanotechnology.

A significant proportion of the research conducted at the department is in the field of nanoparticle-based materials. The aim of the research is to develop new types of materials based on nanoparticles with new properties, and to understand the link between the properties of the material and how functional it is in certain applications. The focus is on applications in catalysis and magnetism.

Work duties

Description of the work duties:

  • to support/assist the research group, research within the subject area
  • cosupervision of degree projects and PhD projects
  • assist in seeking external research funding
  • collaboration with industry and wider society
  • administration related to the work duties listed above

Qualifications

Appointment to a position as a researcher requires that the applicant has a PhD.

Required qualifications:

  • a PhD or equivalent research qualification within the subject of the position.
  • very good oral and written proficiency in English.
  • you have experience working with aerosol particles
  • you have experience in transmission electron microscopy
  • you have experience in semiconductor growth
  • you must be able to work independently

Additional requirements:

  • you have good collaboration skills
  • you have experience with supervision

The position is a fixed term position for 2025-09-21 to 2025-12-31 at 100 per cent of full time.
