We are looking for up to 10 teaching assistants to the Department of Computer and Information Science.

The position

We are looking for up to 10 teaching assistants to support examinators in master’s level courses in machine learning and R programming during the autumn semester of 2025 (with a possibility of extension). The main tasks involve assisting students during lab sessions and possibly exercise classes, as well as providing feedback on assignments. Teaching will be conducted in English. In case of an extension to the spring semester of 2026, the responsibilities may expand to include support in additional courses in statistics, programming, and machine learning.”

The person we need

To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to undergraduate or graduate-level university studies.

A requirement for employment is documented strong academic performance in subjects relevant to the courses in question.

It is a requirement that you are proficient in spoken and written English. It is also advantageous if you are currently studying at Linköping University.

The workplace

The Department of Computer and Information Science was founded in 1983 but its roots go back to the early 1970s. It is one of the largest computer science departments in northern Europe. Our research covers a broad spectrum of fields, from core to applied computer sciences. Its vast scope also benefits our undergraduate and graduate programmes, and we now teach courses in several engineering programmes at bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as the programmes in statistics, cognitive science and innovative programming. You will work with one or more instructors in the STIMA division (Statistics and Machine Learning).

The employment

The scope of work and start date will be determined by agreement.

Employment as a teaching assistant is regulated in Chapter 5 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
