- Provide tutoring support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students enrolled in baccalaureate-level mathematics courses
- Provide direct instruction in mathematics courses to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in associate-level programs
- Already be or will become proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) as determined by the college sign language proficiency rating system and will use ASL to instruct students
- Fulfill other faculty expectations including those related to service that result in tenure and promotion in rank

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field. Candidates who are in the final stages of preparing and defending a dissertation will be considered but must have completed all degree requirements by the first day of contract to be hired.
- Demonstrated ability to perform research and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Prior teaching and/or tutoring experience, or graduate teaching assistantship work, in mathematics.
- Knowledge of or familiarity and experience with Deaf culture, and proficient or willing to learn American Sign Language (ASL) to have the ability to teach a variety of Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing and hearing students and individuals who may utilize a variety of communication and learning modalities.
* NOTE: Candidates who are not fluent or proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) will receive appropriate workload releases from teaching/tutoring during their probationary period to enroll in NTID Faculty and Staff Sign Language (FSSL) Program ASL coursework. Candidate must be able to demonstrate ASL proficiency within a period specified in the letter of hire.
