The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Tübingen invites applications for the position of a Tenure-Track Professor of Art History (Early Modern) (m/w/d) to commence as soon as possible.

Requirements for applicants are an outstanding PhD dissertation as well as research and teaching that go beyond the PhD. The holder of the position is expected to have a research focus on early modern art (from 1500-1800). A proven interest in the field of spatial art and/or architectural history are desirable. In addition to participation in the department’s teaching, the ability and willingness to cooperate on an interdisciplinary basis and, in particular, to participate in interdisciplinary programs and research networks (esp. the CRC 1391) as well as relevant university centres within the faculty and beyond are expected.

This position is initially limited to four years, with the possibility of an extension by a further two years in case of a positive interim evaluation. The position has a teaching load of four hours per week prior to interim evaluation, and six hours thereafter. This tenure-track professorship will be upgraded to a full (W3) professorship with no re-advertising of the position. The appointment prerequisites of § 51 LHG apply. Those who have completed a habilitation will be excluded.

Applicants for a Tenure-Track professorship with a PhD from Tübingen must have changed universities after completing their doctorates or have worked in academia and/or research for at least two years somewhere other than the University of Tübingen.
