7. Postdoctoral Fellowship

About Postdoctoral Position

The Zipkin Quantitative Ecology Lab seeks a postdoctoral scholar to work with a team of researchers on an NSF funded project to develop ‘integrated community models’, a statistical modeling framework to unite multi-species data sources to estimate the status, trends, and dynamics of biodiversity. The project’s goal is to create a flexible infrastructure for estimating species and community processes that can incorporate multiple data types on multiple species. The postdoctoral scholar will develop: 1) simulations evaluating the benefits gained by integrating common data types collected on multiple species, and 2) one or more empirical case studies on birds, small mammals, and/or butterfly communities.

9. Postdoctoral Fellowship

About Postdoctoral Position

The Shah Lab at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station, Michigan State University, is hiring a post-doctoral research associate for research involving thermal physiology and species interactions in aquatic communities. The project will involve unraveling the effects of temperature on the growth, development, energy allocation, and stress responses of damselfly nymphs from two naturally occurring communities that are controlled by different aquatic predators. It will also involve testing thermal physiological traits of the predators. The candidate will apply their knowledge (or rapidly develop skills in) ectotherm physiology, metabolic rate measurements, data analysis, and modeling to intellectually important questions in ecological physiology.
