About Fully Funded PhD in Linguistics
The University of Pittsburgh, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, provides a fully funded PhD in Linguistics program. Only PhD students with specializations in phonetics/phonology, second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, Hispanic linguistics, and Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) are accepted.
Eligibility Criteria
- Earned master’s degree prior to entering the PhD.
- You are expected to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and subject-specific GPA of 3.5 or above.
- English language proficiency requirements (non-native English speakers)
PhD Funding Coverage
Every year, the Department is able to provide several very attractive funding packages to well-qualified PhD applicants. If a student is admitted with financial aid, it is normally renewable for a maximum of 5 years for a PhD student.
