About the role

Are you an experienced communicator who wants to make an impact in global health as IGHI Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager?

At the Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI), you will work with a committed and talented team to lead and support on communication and events activities in a range of research areas. The IGHI Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager will play a vital role in helping to build IGHI’s reputation as a world-leading Institute in global health research, education and policy.

 

What you would be doing

As Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager , you will lead and deliver the Institute’s communications strategy, developing IGHI’s reputation as a leading and unique research entity in the international global health arena, including facilitating inspiring and engaging events that showcase the Institute’s work and our visibility to stakeholders.

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for providing expert comment to breaking news lead on disseminating the Institute’s expertise and activities with priority audiences and directing IGHI’s programme communications and outreach activities, as well as managing the Institute’s website and social media platforms.

You will be an effective project manager, overseeing and mentoring a small team who will lead on a range of activities across the Institute building and maintaining effective relationships with new and existing collaborators.

 

What we are looking for

  • This role would suit an ambitious individual, with line management experience, and a strong background in the delivery of wide-ranging high-level communications, including press releases, policy-briefings, reports, website news articles, briefing papers, targeted donor publications, newsletters and social media content.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for healthcare, with a creative mind, flair for writing and exceptional organisational skills.
  • You will bring expertise to planning and delivering a range of high-profile and engaging events.
  • You will be confident working independently and part of a team with excellent interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships with senior stakeholders to understand their needs and to ensure the delivery of optimal impact across all IGHI activity.

Further information

This is 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover), full-time (35 hours per week).

This role is an opportunity for a secondment.
