Master’s Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,
have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
At least one of your two – three references should be from individuals in your BSW program who can speak to your BSW performance, which could include the program director, a faculty member, or your practicum instructor or coordinator.
In addition to achieving a 3.0 for the social work major, the applicant must have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better (4.0 scale) for all undergraduate and graduate course work OR a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of coursework completed.
Applicants holding a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited undergraduate program may request review for Advanced Standing admission.
Master’s Funding Coverage,
UH GCSW makes every effort to assist students in obtaining financial support for their graduate education. We offer a number of scholarships, stipend programs, assistantships and fellowships to students as funds are available. Any non-Texas resident who receives a scholarship of $1,000 or more will receive in-state (resident) tuition rates.

Application Fee,
The Application Fee for the MSW Program is $50.00 for domestic applicants and $80.00 for international applicants. Applicants submit the fee with the online application.
