About Master’s Program,

The MA in Psychology program has been designed to provide intensive research training and develop the capacity for a critical and scholarly approach to issues in each of the three specializations. Collaborative work allows students to link across focal areas to pursue the research questions they seek to address.

Master’s Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,

To be considered for admission to a Master’s program, a student will normally hold a four-year degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited university with a minimum 75% (mid-B) average over the last two years of full-time undergraduate study.

Some graduate programs may have additional or higher admission requirements. Check the specific admission requirements for the graduate program to which you wish to apply. You can also refer to the graduate calendar for additional information.

Candidates who do not meet the admission requirements may be recommended to upgrade. At the successful completion of the upgrading year, students may be reconsidered for admission into the master’s program.

Master’s Funding Coverage,

We provide funding opportunities to graduate students in several forms, including graduate fellowships, scholarships and awards, bursaries and employment income. Graduate funding may vary based on student type and degree pathway and is communicated to students within an offer of admission.

Although not a requirement for your application package, an updated CV listing any publications, presentations, research assistant work, etc., would be considered an asset. Statement (and optional CV) must be uploaded.

Complete the Applicant Interest Form (Research and Faculty Checklist) and upload. On this, you will indicate, in order of preference, potential faculty members as supervisors and indicate your interest in various research topics. If you cannot fill out the form directly using the link provided, you can download the form and then upload it to your application.

For applicants applying with backgrounds other than psychology or neuroscience:

Candidates must submit Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test and the GRE Psychology Subject test section.
