About Master’s Program,
As one of the first STEM-designated accounting programs in the U.S., Ohio State’s Master of Accounting (MAcc) graduate program is a national leader. Fisher delivers personalized, hands-on experiences to prepare you for the real world. Unlike traditional master’s programs that require a strict and steady diet of accountancy-focused classwork, Fisher goes further by building on an accounting foundation with a variety of advanced business electives you choose. This format gives you a more well-rounded education so you’re ready for a business world that needs you. Learn more about the program by downloading our one-page MAcc information sheet here.
Master’s Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,
Applicants to the MAcc degree program must have completed (or will complete prior to enrollment) a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants’ academic records should demonstrate an ability to pursue graduate studies in the accounting field, including completion of pre-requisite requirements
all majors are welcome and encouraged to apply. In addition to accounting majors, the Fisher MAcc program admits both business and non-business students with a wide variety of academic backgrounds, including – but not limited to – economics, communications, psychology, and political science.
Master’s Funding Coverage,
All admitted MAcc applicants are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships; a scholarship application is not required except for the Deloitte Foundation Accounting Scholars award. Recipients are notified prior to their admissions response deadlines.
The Master of Accounting (MAcc) program awards a handful of Graduate Assistant (GA) appointments each year. A GA appointment is 10 hours per week and provides a 50% tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Depending on the financial aid budget each year, all admitted applicants are automatically considered for GA appointments available each year; an application is not required.
Merit-Based Cash Awards
The MAcc program offers limited, merit-based cash awards to select incoming students. MAcc awards/scholarships may range from $3,000 up to $15,000. The Admissions Committee will use your application to determine whether you qualify for these awards. There is no additional application or information needed from the student for this consideration, but we encourage you to complete your application to create the best opportunity for consideration for this competitive financial support.
