About Master’s Program,

We offer a wide variety of program options for your graduate student experience. Our eight faculties may offer programs in graduate certificates, diplomas, master’s and/or doctoral degrees. Most programs admit students for the fall term, while others offer three intakes with their own application deadline. Please consult the programs’ website for details.

Master’s Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,   

  • a bachelor’s degree from SFU or its equivalent from a recognized institution
  • a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.33 (B), or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+) based on the last 60 units of undergraduate courses. Any graduate work is also considered. Individual graduate programs may set a higher admission grade point average.
  • submitted evidence, usually references from qualified referees, of the applicant’s ability to undertake advanced studies in the area of interest.
  • proof of English Language proficiency

In exceptional circumstances, a student may be admitted with lower formal qualifications when there is significant experience relevant to the proposed area of scholarship.

Master’s Funding Coverage,

Graduate Studies provides merit-based awards to graduate students of high academic achievement. The specific eligibility, application process, value and duration of these awards and scholarships differ.

Transcripts

Required documents depend on the program and may include transcripts, curriculum vitae, research proposal etc. You will send reference requests at this step. All required supporting documentation and references need to be completed by your program’s deadline.
