About Master’s Program,
A graduate degree in a foreign language is a perfect precursor to a career teaching or conducting research abroad or in fields related to your language. We also work with the College of Education to provide an MAT in foreign languages.
Master’s Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,
you will need to submit an application for each program. This allows each program to receive your information and supporting documents required from all other applicants to their program.

Master’s Funding Coverage,
From graduate assistantships to merit-based fellowships, you may find you can afford a great education. While most assistantships and fellowships are arranged by your home department, the Graduate School lists university-wide funding below. Select openings are posted on the Opportunities Bulletin Board and our Graduate Student Resources Hub can help you connect with national fellowships and the campus Career Center.
Our assistantships come with a stipend between $12,000 and $17,000 depending on program (MA or Ph.D.), rank and workload. The stipend is paid semi-monthly from August 16 until May 15.

Application Requirement,
- Bachelor’s Degree:From an accredited college or university (or international equivalent)
- Official Transcripts:From all colleges and universities attended for credit. Unofficial transcripts are required to be uploaded to your application.
- Official Test Scores:Consult your program for specific score requirements
- Letters of Recommendation:Consult your program for the number of letters required
- Application Fee: Effective July 15, 2023, the base $50 graduate application fee is automatically waived for all applicants until further notice. Our ApplyWeb application is free (no waiver code is needed). However, additional fees may remain on applications through discipline-specific vendors.
- English ProficiencyRequirement: TOEFL, IELTS , PTE or Duolingo scores for applicants whose native language is not English (see all International Student requirements and exemptions.
- You must submit official test scores directly from the testing servicebefore they expire. Academic test scores are valid for five years from testing date; language test scores are valid for two years from testing date.
- Many programs require statements of purpose, resumes, writing samples, portfolios and/or licensure.
