About Master’s Program,
As a University of Calgary graduate student, you are a part of the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS). While your teaching faculty provides the home for your research, courses and scholarly activities, we are here to answer your questions, support, guide and empower you in your graduate journey.
Master’s Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,
Should maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 calculated on a four-point scale at the end of each registration year and attain at least a B- on each course taken for credit.
A master’s thesis-based student must complete a thesis on a topic to be agreed to by the student and their supervisor.
A four-year baccalaureate degree or its equivalent is required for a master’s program
A master’s degree in most cases is required for admission to a doctoral program
Master’s Funding Coverage,
Scholarships from a variety of sources, including private donors and the Government of Canada, are available to international and domestic graduate students
You may be able to fund your own studies by saving enough to cover tuition and fees ahead of time, or by enrolling part-time while you work outside of the university.

Application Fee,
A non-refundable application fee for each application to a graduate degree program. $125 for Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents, $145 for international students with a study permit.
