Students selected for Walton College Ph.D. programs are supported with strong financial, physical and intellectual resources in an unparalleled collegial atmosphere.
Walton Ph.D. programs are designed to prepare selected students for careers in academia or government/industry research. Only a small number of students are admitted each year, encouraging a supportive environment where faculty are actively committed to student success.
Our faculty are committed to moving your career forward immediately, with opportunities for collaborative research available the first day you arrive on campus. Small teaching loads create an environment that encourages you to focus on perfecting your research skills.
PhD Program Degree Eligibility with GPA,
- All transcripts and degree conferrals from your previous undergraduate and graduate institutions.
- Unofficial copies can be uploaded for an initial application review (official copies are needed to finalize admission).
- If you are a current or former U of A student, we have your official Arkansas transcript on file. You do not need to submit another copy.
- All Walton doctoral programs require either a valid GMAT or GRE for admission.
- Please check the individual program for specific test requirements.
- Unofficial copies can be uploaded for an initial application review (official copies are needed to finalize admission).
- Analytical Writing score (AWA) is requiredfor Fellowship
PhD Funding Coverage,
A separate application is not required for graduate assistantships. Students admitted to a Walton College Ph.D. program are automatically considered for a graduate assistantship which includes a full tuition waiver and an annual stipend. Visit Graduate and International Education for details.
Highly qualified students may be nominated for fellowship funding in addition to an assistantship. Visit Graduate School and International Education for details.
