Research assistant for laboratory operations with a focus on Immunology and Flow Cytometry.

Research at the Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases Unit, which belongs to the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology, focuses on immunology (mainly T and B cells, dendritic cells, neutrophils) and inflammation in head and neck cancer and asthma, as well as immunotherapy for respiratory allergies.

The research is closely linked to the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat (ÖNH) and is led by Professor Lars Olof Cardell. We are now looking for a highly motivated and skilled research assistant to join our laboratory operations and who wants to contribute to our research within head and neck cancer, asthma and respiratory allergies.

Your role

You will participate in several of the group’s various research projects in both tumor immunology and airway inflammation. The laboratory methods that will primarily be relevant are flow cytometry, cell culture, immunological analyses, immunohistochemistry and various molecular biological methods. You will be involved in planning, method development, implementation and compilation of results.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has at least a master’s degree in biomedicine, immunology, molecular biology, biotechnology or similar. You should be able to use flow cytometry and have worked with it previously, as well as have general lab experience (e.g. ELISA, cell culture, etc.). You can also interpret and compile results. If you have experience writing applications and manuscripts, it is an advantage.

You like and find it easy to learn new methods and know that accuracy and a structured working method are important for success with the experiments. Very good knowledge (speaking completely freely) of Swedish but also English is a prerequisite for doing the job, as the research environment is international.

It is a job in an exciting and diverse research environment where both independence and initiative are important qualities. We place great importance on personal qualities when assessing candidates.
