The project will entail algorithm development and deployment of deep learning approaches for histomorphological characterisation of triple negative breast cancers. Through spatial transcriptomics, diverse transcriptional profiles will be mapped to regions of interest to decipher immune cell population dynamics in triple negative breast cancers. Muscular dystrophies are a group of disorders characterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness and wasting. Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is the third most common inherited myopathy. We have identified several pathways that are deregulated in FSHD to cause inefficient muscle repair, and are currently investigating pathomechanisms and biomarkers of the disease using cell/molecular and redox biological, ‘omics’-based and in silico methodology.

The Neves lab is looking for an excellent and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop an exciting project that involves the expansion and validation of a human in vitro system, developed by the Neves lab. This system promotes the generation of large numbers of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in mucosal organoids (lung, small intestine, and colon). The project aims to demonstrate the robustness of our novel system so that it may be used by other researchers as an alternative to animal studies and so that it can be used to expand ILCs for their use in autologous cell therapy.

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position (PDRA) is available in the Trophoblast and Human Embryo Lab situated in the Centre for Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine at King’s College London. The post holder will support the research lead by Dr Norah Fogarty which seeks to understand the molecular processes that govern early placenta development in the human. Our goal is to identify signalling pathways active during trophectoderm and trophoblast differentiation and to determine their functional role in cell proliferation, gene expression and embryo development. The post-holder will work with Professor Irene Higginson to support existing research activity, including analysing existing data from national and international studies, liaising with centres, undertaking scoping, systematic and narrative literature reviews, and supporting data collection where appropriate.
