1. Postdoctoral Fellowship

About Postdoctoral Position

The work consists of conducting life cycle assessments (LCA) of a variety of sport and outdoor products (for example, bicycles, workout clothes, electronic devices) as part of a research project aiming to study the climate impact of consumption patterns related to sport and outdoor products. The focus is on participants of events: both travel and consumption patterns in direct connection to the event as well as consumption connected to preparation and training before events.

Since climate impacts from sport and outdoor products have only been studied to limited extent, the results will be important research contributions. The variety of products that will be studied will require making simplifications to the LCAs. This simplification requires well-founded decisions to strike a balance between level of detail and accuracy of results.

3. Postdoctoral Fellowship

About Postdoctoral Position

The metal production and manufacturing industries use enormous amounts of energy and are the largest contributing industries to greenhouse gas emissions. Primary production of metals is the largest part of this and transitioning to production of metallic materials based more on scrap, i.e. secondary raw materials, is a key factor to address several of the sustainability targets of society. This is most important in steel and aluminum production since these are the largest used metallic materials, however, currently only about 30% recycled material is used in alloy production in these alloy systems. There have been some efforts to develop the concept of scrap-tolerant alloy design for aluminum alloys, but more work is needed for metallic materials to improve sustainability in metal production and use.

About Postdoctoral Position

The property register is undergoing a change from 2D to 3D using 3D spatial technologies such as 3D GIS and BIM. At the same time, when generating 3D register models and converting between BIM and 3D GIS, there are practical problems in defining and representing legal information correctly in 3D register models, as current 3D registers do not have data hierarchical structure and detail. The post doc project aims to harmonize the Land Registry, BIM and GIS database for the 3D Land Registry to efficiently facilitate conversions from the hybrid stage to the full 3D registry stage.
