About PhD Program,

The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)​ in Temple’s Fox School of Business is designed to provide executive-level professionals with the applied research theories and tools necessary to keep up with the evolutionary nature of industry, and continue to advance in their companies and respective fields.

Those who choose to pursue a Doctor of Business Administration are driven by a desire to ignite real change in their companies or fields through data-driven decision-making. Fox’s accredited and rigorous program provides business professionals with the power to transform today’s business environment through academically rigorous and practice-focused business research.

The DBA curriculum uses applied theory and extensive data-driven research to educate students on methods of advanced critical reasoning to solve the complex challenges facing today’s businesses.

  • Engage in academically rigorous and practice-focused business research from the AACSB-accredited Fox School of Business.
  • Learn how to conceptualize and investigate complex business problems.
  • Develop a program of research tailored to your background and career goals.
  • Receive personalized mentorship from Executive DBA faculty as you progress through your coursework and develop your individual program of research.
  • Receive your doctorate in a program tailored to executives, delivered through a limited number of on-campus residencies, and supplemented with online courses and collaboration.

Merit-based Scholarships

Fox students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships based on information provided in the application process. There is no separate application, and decisions are made on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle.

Application Requirement,

  • Résumé: A current professional résumé is required.
  • Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from every college and university you have attended. Request a transcript from Temple University.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Contact information for references may be submitted through the online Application Portal. References may then complete our electronic form or upload their own letters of recommendation.
  • Essays: The first essay should address the applicant’s goals and motivations for pursuing the Executive DBA degree, as well as detail his or her general areas of research interest. The second essay should describe the applicant’s plans to balance the time commitment required of the program (about 15 hours per week) with their work schedule and other demands.
  • Interview: Candidates may be interviewed after submission of their application. Interviews may occur in person or through video conference. If an interview is scheduled, on-site interviews are strongly recommended so that applicants can visit Temple University and the Fox School to tour the facilities and meet the Executive DBA faculty.

Because of the nature of the Executive DBA and the level of experience required of applicants, the GMAT or GRE is not required. Applicants may submit standardized test scores if they choose.
