PhD Funding Coverage,

This support is continued throughout the four to five years of the program, as long as satisfactory progress is being made.
Students who are eligible may be nominated for the Madison and Lila Self Graduate Fellowship at the University of Kansas. The Self Graduate Fellowship is a merit-based program made up of an interdisciplinary group of doctoral students and is a unique opportunity to acquire valuable leadership training for future careers.
Throughout their time as a Self Graduate Fellow, students receive funding that covers tuition, fees, graduate appointment (the stipend for fall 2025 accepted students will be $36,000), and the employer’s portion of student health insurance.
In addition, the School of Business provides a scholarship in the amount of $10,000 ($5,000 for the fall semester and $5,000 for the spring semester) each year for four years to a selected Self Graduate Fellow admitted to the KU School of Business doctoral program.
