About Fully Funded PhD in Sociology
Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, provides a PhD in Sociology that is completely supported. Students in the PhD program in sociology are prepared for jobs in research and teaching. While the majority of graduates teach in colleges and universities, many also work in research.
Eligibility Criteria
- Earned master’s degree prior to entering the PhD.
- You are expected to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and subject-specific GPA of 3.5 or above.

PhD Funding Coverage
For the next five years, all approved students will be fully sponsored. They get complete tuition and a living stipend for the first four years, and in the fifth or sixth year, students are eligible for the dissertation write-up fellowship. Students in their third and fourth years are expected to work as teaching fellows in order to obtain their stipend. The 12-month stipend is $33,600.
