Summary of PhD Scholarship: The aim of this thesis project is to develop spatial statistical models and inference methods that can be applied to a wide array of environmental data and improve the performance of a wave power plant; possible applications include prediction of waves, reconstruction of past vegetation, estimates of CO2 emissions and analysis of climate model output.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: In this project, we will study statistical properties of chaotic dynamical systems, in particular questions relating to recurrence and hitting. Some possible directions of research are dynamical Borel–Cantelli lemmata, quantitative recurrence, and fractal sets related to these kind of questions.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The PhD students shall work on the development of methods for studies of non-linear interaction and photoionization of atoms by electromagnetic fields. The studies will include laser-driven electron dynamics within atoms into time-dependent excited states, as well as studies of how excited atoms interact on the mesoscopic and macroscopic length scale.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The MIAO research group has a fairly unusual profile in that we are on the one hand conducting deeply theoretical, mathematical research on the foundations of efficient computation, and on the other hand working on the design of state-of-the-art applied algorithms that are meant to run blisteringly fast in practice.
Lund University was founded in 1666 and is repeatedly ranked among the world’s top 100 universities. The University has around 44 000 students and more than 8 000 staff based in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. We are united in our efforts to understand, explain and improve our world and the human condition.

(1) Fully Funded PhD Position:
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The Department of Information Security and Communication Technology (IIK) is looking for you who are interested in working with and taking a doctorate in our fields. As a doctoral fellow, you will have the opportunity to develop and influence future solutions.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The successful candidate will conduct his / her research on reconstructing phylogenetic trees and completing species distribution models in order to test hypotheses about the evolution and demographic history of neotropical parrots in the tribe Arini.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The research will involve the synthesis of solid-state electrolytes (e.g., polymers, ceramics, composites) and in deep characterization in terms of structure, microstructure, electrical tansport properties and chemical and electrochemical combability with Li metal and high voltage/high capacity cathodes.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The first project will be mainly theoretically focused, and will involve ab-initio modelling of molecules inside metallic nanogaps. The second project will be mainly experimentally focused, and will involve the fabrication and chemical application of metallic nanogaps.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: Digital technologies are the most likely to be the strongest driver of change today, and the industry 4.0 is having strong impact also on logistics. Mechanical and Industrial Engineers and Managers of the future will have to design and manage the next generations’ products, machines, and material handling equipment which are more complex and smarter.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The PhD fellow will be a part of a team working on the NFR project called “Norwegian in-situ Rock Stress for Sustainable Development of Hydroelectric Power (NoRSTRESS)” where SINTEF functions as Project manager and IGP as research partner.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The PhD candidate in the AlgModE project will address the fundamental difference of two classes of alginate modifying enzymes: epimerases and lyases. The determination of their catalytic mechanism, which at present remains largely unclear will be the main target.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The department focuses on interdisciplinary research and research-based innovation related to sustainable salmon farming, the marine environment, marine ingredients and medical and laboratory technology.
Summary of PhD Scholarship: The PhD Candidate will work on challenging research problems related to zero-emission high speed ferry solutions. The position will study and model conventional and emerging zero-emission power and propulsion systems for low-resistance high speed ferries, to compute emissions and fuel/energy usage of studied solutions.
