  • Earned master’s degree prior to entering the PhD.
  • You are expected to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and subject-specific GPA of 3.5 or above.

PhD Funding Coverage

All students enrolled to the Ph.D. program are eligible for a competitive five-year financing package that includes a full tuition waiver, stipend, health care, and other incentives. Beyond the initial admittance package, the department has money available for ALC graduate students. Several Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) positions are available in the department throughout the Fall and Winter semesters.
